Cub

We are so excited that you are interested in Scouting!

Pack 202 is for both boys and girls in K - 5th Grades and conveniently serves residents in the Cary, Apex, and Holly Springs area. We have many fun activities throughout the year, including camping, bike rodeos, monthly hikes, fishing, and lots of other FUN activities! We also participate in many special events, such as the annual Pinewood Derby, annual dessert Bake-Off, community service projects, annual Apex Christmas Parade, lots of STEM events, and a Religious Program.  In the summer we also enjoy various activities such as Movies in the Moonlight at Koka Booth Amphitheater, Wake County Speedway Racing, Minor League Baseball outings, and the End of Summer Picnic.

Pack 202 also plans a large end of the year trip, which has included sleeping on the USS Yorktown Air Craft Carrier (Charleston, SC) and Sleeping with the Fish (Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium).  Our pack is very family oriented and we welcome all parents and siblings to all meetings.

Pack 202 meets on Thursday nights from 6:45-8:00 at St. Francis United Methodist Church on Kildaire Farm Road just north of Penny Road. If you are interested in joining our pack or just visiting one of our meetings then please send us an email by clicking the button below!

Fun at the Apex Christmas Parade

Posted on Dec 8 2018 - 9:55am

Our Apex Christmas parade was a great success! Thank you to Tracy Abercrombie and Mike Wachtel for all the planning of the float. Thanks also to Bill Corcoran and John Abercrombie for joining us on Saturday morning to get it all decorated. Lastly, thank you to the fourteen Scouts, their siblings and parents that joined us in the rain.

As you can see from the picture, it was hard to miss the float and who we were. Hopefully all the participants had fun, and we hope to see even more of you next year!

Theme of the Month - A Scout is Kind

kindA Scout is kind. A Scout knows there is strength in being gentle. Scouts treat others as they want to be treated. Without good reason, scouts do not harm or kill any living thing.

Harlem Globetrotters Registration Open

Posted on Dec 1 2018 - 1:09pm

HarlemGiven a very busy December Pack calendar and the competing interest between a hockey event and the Harlem Globetrotters event, Pack leadership has made the decision to cancel the Canes Scout night event.  The Harlem Globetrotters event will be on 12/30 and a signup has been created here

Rechartering fees are DUE

Posted on Dec 1 2018 - 1:09pm

RecharterIf you haven’t yet paid for rechartering, then you need to do so asap as they are all due by the end of November. Even if you paid money upon joining this summer or fall, that money was for the remainder of 2018. The dues for 2019 are as follows: 1st Scout - $81, 2nd Scout - $69, AOL Scouts - $45. The reduced fee for AOL Scouts covers them until they recharter with whatever Boy Scout troop they join. Pack 202 will collect money through the month of November. We accept cash or check, or you can log on to the pack website and pay by credit card for a small processing fee. We need to have everyone’s money by the end of the month as fee collection is just one step in the BSA rechartering process. If your family is in financial difficulties, please contact Cubmaster Jeff McKay or Pack Committee Chair Cristy Johnson directly. Please contact Greg Cannon with any other questions.
